It was tense in the tent that Mako and Toby picked for themselves. It was two to a tent and, while it was going to be the lovey-dovey couple, then the outliers, Mako felt she needed to talk to Toby about... whatever was ailing him. Mako was a tad sleepy, but she could stay awake just fine. "Toby? Are you awake?" "What does it look like?" "It *looks* like someone's got a bad attitude." "Look, I'm *sorry* that I can't be all happy go lucky today. Life's keeping me down, what else is new?" "...Do you need to talk about it?" "I hate my arm, I hate being a cyborg, I hate my life. What else is there to talk about? Just cut my wires at this point." "I will not be cutting your wires, Toby! You're... unique and beautiful the way you are." Toby scoffed. "Easy for you to say. You and Ika and what's-their-name all wake up looking *normal*, and me? I look pitiful, disgusting. I should be ashamed of myself." "Toby, you know there's lots of different types of people out there. Some are big, some small-" "Yeah, but do any of them have robotic arms?" "Some do, yeah. Do *you* think badly of them?" "No, but they're not like me. They're... they're worse. They have it worse. I'm in the worst spot because I can't get any help! Nobody likes me, it's fruitless. I never had family, I never had friends-" "None of us did, Toby. But, look, us four, all from completely different quadrants of the world, all coming together under a common goal, a common name? We have each other, don't we? We all depend on each other, and it's alright to ask for help, or for approval, or whatever." "I guess... Still makes me feel weird." "What, you're not like one of those weird buff guys who always worry about being 'strong' and 'manly', are you?" "...Maybe a little." "Toby! Those guys are bad news for you!" Toby chuckled to himself. "I know, but who else am I gonna look up to? There's not exactly a lot of role models that are guys, or cyborgs." "Well... it doesn't have to be someone *just* like you. I look up to you, in all honesty." "Get outta here." "Honest! You mean a lot to me, Toby. Ika's amazing, and Edgie is... Edgie, but you? You're like a nice in-between, a stable canopy, if you will." Mako laughed a tad. "Sorry, I don't exactly know my metaphors well." "It's okay. Sorry to keep you up, you can go back to bed. I'm gonna go outside for abit, sit by the campfire." "Alright, I'll be here. Goodnight, Toblerone!" Mako made a heart with her hands when she said that part. Toby just rolled his [[Eye]]s. He opened the flap of his tent and went over to the campfire. He was about to sit down, when he noticed Ika, phasing into the grass. Well, you'd think she was, what with the green hair and all. "Ika! You're still up?" "T-toby! Yeah, I'm... I have insomnia. I take meds for it, but the stars are very pretty tonight." "You're splayed out like a starfish, there..." "I know, but it's... comfy. Would you, uhm, wanna lay down with me?" Toby walked next to Ika, trying to find a comfortable position to lie on the ground. He decided on keeping his legs bent, but ultimately just put them on the ground. The same streaks of color kept gliding across the sky, the stars glimmering and twinkling against the background. The moon was somewhat in view, but it wasn't blinding. "You're right about something, Ika..." "What's, uh, that?" "Something's beautiful tonight..." "Mhm. Hey, what's with those stars over there?" Ika pointed in the general direction of left. "They're... all clustered together?" "That, dear Ika, is the Bees constellation." "Bees?" "Yeah. If you're born under the Bees, it's said you have a star sign, and quite possibly a defined gender." Ika mulled this over in her head. "Were you born under the Bees?" Toby sat up and looked at Ika as if she had grown another head. "What, no, it's a joke, like- the stars look like a gathering of bees, you know?" "I don't think I get it." "You've seen a bee, right?" "No." "But you know what a bee looks like, right?" "I hate to break it to you, but also no. Sorry..." "No, no, it's... fine. I just didn't think I'd ever meet someone who didn't know what a bee was." Ika sat up as well. "I never thought I'd meet someone with as cool of an arm as you, but, here we are, I guess? Sorry, I don't mean to be weird." "You don't need to apologize so m- wait, you think my arm is cool?" "Y-yeah! Don't you do all kinds of tinkering with it? Does it transform into anything?" "Not really..." "Well, it still looks neat. I don't think I've ever seen a cyborg in my life..." "You could say that about a lot of things." "Not true! I have seen Mako before." "..." "That one was also a joke, I think." The two returned to their tent. Though Toby still had his worries about himself, he at least had some [[Answers]].
