A sketchpad, opened vertically, with two drawings on each page. It is drawn in pencil in a mostly archaic style.
The top page is a map of The Plane, as we know it. There are a number of items labelled with numbers, and identified on the left in the legend.
1. The Residence
- This is where most humans live and are born. The soil is supple, perfect for birthing, and the air is mostly quiet. It's a relatively small town (population ~500 as of last census), but most facilities are accessible. Humans have developed some of their own technology, but it does not compare to those of The Synths. Though it is not explicitly shown in their architecture, they worship the third Knight, Life, due to the tight-knight nature of human relationships and their love for living.
2. Synth City
- Synth City (or sometimes "The City") is where most Synths live. Not much is known about the city to outsiders, other than that it is the only town with a true monarchy, led by the simply named The Lady. The population runs anywhere from 2000 to 4000, as recent manufacturing protocols have slowed down the production of new Synths. Various forms of neon run through the streets, hinting at their devotion to the first knight, Materia. It is also well known for their hospice industry, frequently being the manufacturer of most [[Meds]].
3. Neon Desert
- The Neon Desert is known for being a wasteland. Not much is known about its origins or its purpose, other than that the sands are strangely artificial, propelling anyone who attempts to run on them. They are typically the dwellings of Cyber, though their numbers are small - estimates never go above 100. Mages are also known to travel to and from there, but are never actually seen.
4. The Mountains
- The Mountains is the only known mountain range in The Plane. Despite being atop a large plateau, The Mountains are ever higher than anything else. It is the common residence of The Dwarves, who typically swear to the fourth knight, Honor. The Mountains are known for their large exports and imports businesses.
5. New Haven
- New Haven is a secondary place where Humans live, but it's also explicitly open to all types of people, regardless of race, most commonly Cybers. The laws are more relaxed compared to other towns, and residents usually do not understand the concept of monogamy, in favor of a more "free love" lifestyle. They do not claim to any one particular knight, instead worshiping all four every 4 nights.
6. Unexplored
- The Plane is notable for being high on a plateau. Little, if any, is actually known about the surrounding area at the base. Those who venture down have ceased to be - communications halt within Synths, Mages can never seem to warp back or rise themselves out of the fog, and those equipped with climbing gear appear to vanish halfway down. Discussion of The Edge is typically forbidden, as there have been some concerns of giving those with lesser mental states the thought of vanishing.
On the lower page, there is a drawn diagram featuring four celestial objects:
- The Sun, typically representative of the second Knight, Flame, but also the concept of light and good, in general. The appearance of The Sun is typically based on location - though in most places in The Plane, daylight may be properly experienced, within The Neon Desert, the sun instead appears to be fractured and forever hanging in the same location, for reasons unknown.
- The Planet, the sphere we reside on. Not much is known about anything other than The Plane, aside from the curvature of The Planet, which is known due to local view distance. It is representative of the third knight, Life.
- The Moon, which is just as large as The Sun. It is typically representative of the first Knight, Materia. It is also known as the primary limelight for insomniacs. The appearance may differ based on location, similar to the sun.
- The Stars, representative of the Fourth Knight, Honor. Numerous in nature, they populate the sky on the side of The Moon - The Sun is too bright to host their twinkle.
