*With The Lady having been slain, the sun repairs itself, until it comes back to its shining glory - and the blue sky now dominates the air, allowing Synth City and The Neon Desert to experience the typical day/night cycle that should be experienced by everyone. It'll take a while - aeons, and aeons, no doubt - but peace will be restored to The Plane eventually, as long as everyone pitches in.*
*After assisting On High in some remaining duties, Ika and Mako retired to their cabin, having been spent from all the chaos. They occasionally visit the school of mages, and sure, they don't mind an adventure or two every now and then. But honestly? It's been a little much on their relationship.*
*Ika has since decided to see a therapist about her mental health issues, as well as starting to transition. She's been working hard, but having a loving girlfriend, as well as knowing that she will one day be as beautiful as all the other people she's met along the way, it soothes her.*
*Mako, on the other hand, has become somewhat of a campaign manager for The Evergreens, helping them out when possible. Ika often accompanies, when she doesn't have a medical appointment. Mako has helped raise funds to help home the Cyborgs who can't afford to home themselves - despite having built her own cabin, she wishes that nobody else would have to. Plus, the time away from Ika is good - they were probably too co-dependent, both of them.*
*Velvet has joined the cause in this regard, working closely with our homely duo in making sure everything looks good. For once, they feel proud about calling themselves an Evergreen.*
*Yolk, the young dwarf, has joined forces with Edgie in assisting On High. Running a democracy in Synth City is hard, so they work together, under the guidance of the mages, neither of them fully sharing a "leader" spot. While Yolk and Edgie are very close, let it be known - there's a reason they're known as the Aces of Spades and Clubs, respectively.*
*Toby, despite also being a Cyborg, has no interest in trying to assist rebuilding efforts. He instead wanders alone, fueled by nothing but testosterone and a drive to be better. The times you do meet him, he will swear up and down that he has seen lizards, which only few actually believe. He has mastered the craft of survival cooking, though.*
*Jane and Yalvol find that the namesake Sheaf of Papers that they've been studying has simply run out of documents. The dank air in the room starts to swelter, and so, they head outside - finding a world so beautiful, that they don't worry about the damned documents anymore.*
*Yalvol eventually meets Ika and the crew while working on houses for the less well off. Ika's a little perturbed at how much Yalvol seems to know, but, she's a little relieved that she has someone else to talk to about her memories. Yalvol's bookish nature also has led him to start writing his own story - though, he might need some practice first.*
*Jane simply clocks off and, after being out sight from Yalvol, unfolds... becoming the very papers themselves. His job is complete - both in a literal sense, but also of his own destiny as a helpful companion, assisting you in your journey across the Papers.*
*Take a breath of fresh air. Smell the roses. Invite your neighbor over for dinner. And don't forget - whether someone doesn't look like you, or whether they don't talk like you, or whether they label themselves with something you don't like... You never know what's hiding under the surface.*
*Maybe, like Ika, they're someone with tragedy written all over their past, who never had a good childhood.*
*Maybe, like Mako, they're someone who feels like they have to hide who they are, just to be around people.*
*Maybe, like Edgie, they're someone that struggles with emotions, who cannot fully comprehend themselves.*
*Maybe, like Toby, they're someone so determined to find out who they are, they lose their identity.*
*But, either way, they are someone. They're a person. So treat them with kindness. You never know who might need it most.*
*Oh, and, thank you for reading. I strongly encourage you to let me know your thoughts on my tale via the links in the Credits. Until next time.*
