"The papers are doing *what?!*"
It's been a very long night at the office. You would like to go home, but you don't have a home. You do, however, have a strange co-worker - Jane Eyre.
"So, run this all by me again, Yal?"
Yal is your nickname. It's short for Yalvol, as in Yalvol O. Utersbein. You've been working with Jane about these strange documents for quite a while now.
You sigh, and explain. "So, at first, it was strange... Some words were links I could click into, and it was like that for a bit." That was the first three ACTs. "Then, it become all linear out of *nowhere*, with all the links broken - but in actuality, you could reach them." That was ACT four.
Jane puts out his hand, as if to shrug with half his body. "That explains the first few things... but, what's the issue now?"
"It's a choose your own adventure novel, or something."
"What, really?"
You nod your head. "Yes, really, Jane. Do you have *any* idea how strange these papers are?"
"I thought that was your job."
You hate having to explain this. "*My* job is to research the Outburst phenomenon. Not to sit here and rifle through all your papers. I'm just doing this because it helps pay the bills. No amount of Amog will ever make this okay, I swear..."
Jane crossed his arms. "Fine. How weird are 'These papers'?" He said that last part in a mocking tone.
"Well, for one, you ever noticed how it's *real odd* you can just plug them into a computer? And not only that, if I'm 'in the zone', sometimes they aren't papers."
Jane scoffed. "Get out of here. You must need rest, no ways about it."
You raise your hands up, before launching them down, your arms parallel to the floor, as to make him aware of the seriousness of the situation. "No, you don't *get it*. Sometimes it's the papers, sometimes it's a hard drive, sometimes it's that weird orb you found in the tunnels."
Jane shakes his head. "Okay, you *really* need some help."
You raise your eyebrows. "As a matter of fact, I do. I need someone to guide me through this. I've never been good at games."
"A choose-your-own adventure doesn't really sound like much of a *game*, Yal."
"And *you* don't sound like much help. You wanna see this, or not? This is probably the last The Papers has to offer."
"Hmph. Very well. Let me grab some snacks from across the street, first, then we can get to work."
