You approach the city proper. The sounds of battle and chaos permeate your ears. You hear smashing bottles, energy weapons being fired, people screaming in pain, the whole 9 aeons. The gate's closed. It's black, metallic, and most importantly, locked, Even with all four of you pushing on it, nothing doing. Mako asks, "Ika, what about your line? You still have that?" You search your pocket, eventually procuring a dagger. It's brass in color, and holding it, it reminds you of the mistake you made such a long time ago: you abandoned this city, in favor of being drunk on love with your girlfriend. It was a nice aeon or two, but you now regret making that choice. You toss the blade into the air. The sharp edges retract, in favor of pulling out some gems, and a line of electricity between then. "I thought I threw this away.", you say. "If we all climb it, we can hop over the wall." You whip the strange device. The nodes climb out, forming a rope that would allow you to climb over the gates. "You all know how to climb?" Toby crosses his arms. "Edgie, can't you just use your geo-whatever?" The mage, give shim a side eye, but remains polite. "It is geokinesis. And, no - the sands here do not converse into a shape I can use to hoist us over. It's the rope." Edgie pauses for a second. "You are able to climb rope, right?" Mako smirks and nudges your arm. "I haven't seen him properly use a rope, *ever*." You have no idea what she's talking about. Toby, however, does - and just glares at her. The cyborg sighs. "Yes, I know how to climb a rope, contrary to popular belief. Can we just get this show on the road already?" You stop him before he can get a hand on it. "I will go first. You will come when I tug on the line. Make sure that it's safe and all." Mako growls a tad, clenching her fists. "Ugh! We don't have time for this!" She pulls out a crossbow, same as she's ever had, and fires a bolt into the wall. Its orange chassis sticks without fail. With a monumental leap, she jumps on top of it, hanging only by a pointed foot, before launching herself over the wall. In a panic, you follow suit, leaping up your rope. You're followed by Toby, but Edgie merely conjures a platform to ride over the wall. ``` JE: couldnt the mage just lift everyone over then YOU: Well, they didn't. Besides, are you the one writing this stuff? JE: no, but neither are you. YOU: Blame the magic set of papers, then. ``` You're in the city proper now. The streets are filled with rage - there is nary a person who isn't cowering in fear, or trying to fight the guards, grey as they are. The scenes that play out in front of you remain largely the same - 3 or 4 individuals trying to take on a guard, with whatever weaponry they could procure - often, their own hands, or a pole, or for the case of the Cybo, the robotic part of the Synths, a transformed arm, used as a battering ram. One such guard approaches you - it strikes your group with fear. He is featureless, only wearing a pair of shades, a tactical foam vest, and a large riot shield. He points at your group. "You four are not allowed in these walls. Turn back now, or there *will* be consequences." There's no turning back. Everyone's waiting for your command. ### -> [[Fight]] ### -> [[Flight]]
