Ika squinted, trying to see if there was more to it. There was not. "Is that it? We come all the way to this weird dish... thing! And all we get is seven words? What does that even mean?" "Uhh..." Mako wanted to take a stab at it, but couldn't. "I got nothing. Kayako?" Kayako thought long and hard, possibly using all 3 or possibly 4 of his brain cells, but like the other two, "Sorry, I don't know either." Kayako turned to his side. "Mysterious floating eye?" "Eh.", said the Mysterious floating eye. The trio was taken aback. A "What the fuck?!" was said, but you couldn't tell which one one of them said it, because the notion was shared by all three. The eye looked at them with mild propensity. "Yes, yes. You all have question, I'm sure of it. But I am a busy eye and a busier tower. Let's make this quick. Ika Cyclone. Mako Taikomochi. Kayako. Think long and hard about what question you want answered. I will answer it with full accuracy." A minute passed. Then two. Then three. Ika and Mako don't know what a minute is, that's now how they tell time in The Plane. Kayako doesn't know how to read a clock. Without a word from any of them, the eye spoke again. "You all have chosen wisely. We will go one at a time." "Kayako.", it starts. "Your most desired question. You wish to know if there is a place in The Plane for you. Rest assured, young Me. There is plenty of opportunities for you there. But do know this. If you were to join them, you would not return to these lands." "Kaya', you want to come with us back home?", Ika asked. "It's just an idea..." Kayako bent over slightly. "I'd be fine here. I think. Just lonely." "Aw..." Mako took pity on the poor thing, rubbing it on the side. "You'll always have us in your heart, alright?" Kayako didn't want to hear that, but accepted it anyways. "Thanks." The eye continues. "Mako Taikomochi. You want to know how to find your way home, back to your world. I am happy to say that there is, indeed, a way. South of here, you will find a broken portal. Alight it with three orbs. Then, and only then, can you return home safely." "Three orbs..." Ika was the strategist of the three, so naturally, it was usually up to her to do the puzzle solving. Yes, the solving, definitely just the solving. She staved off thoughts of those floating prompts. "Like those... hm. I think I know what it's talking about. Some kind of... bonus thing, I think. I overheard it back in the Fofo town. We already have a couple, we just need to get up to three." "But how?", asked Mako, expectantly. "They just kind of... appear, don't they?" "I have my ways, love." The eye finishes off its work. "Ika Cyclone. Your heart longs to find your mother, Mazki. Allow me a moment to see if I can find her. This should be no problem." A minute passes. Then two. Then five. Ika and Mako pull out a deck of cards and start playing some kind of game about trading and reserving collections of cards. Seven minutes. Ika says "Sorry, I don't have any twos." Mako draws a card. Eight minutes. Kayako wants to play. He doesn't have any hands, so he can't, but he and Mako make a "team" and strategize. Ika is fine with this, thinking that they would probably have nothing on her playstyle. Ten minutes. The game is won by Ika with a perfect cleaving of cards. The eye returns, with a single tear. "Ika. I am sorry." "What is it?" "I could not find Mazki. Forgive me. I looked everywhere." Ika was in disbelief. "You mean, even with all the knowledge I could ever want, you can't find my mom?! That's the *one* thing I want, you damned eye! I just want to know where she is! If you have *anything* about Mazki, about *her*, I'd love to hear it." A sigh is heard. "I do know one thing. The Plane, the world from which you originate? She is there. But she is beyond the edge." "The Edge...", Mako repeats. "But nobody's allowed to go past it..." "Uh, can you fill me in, please?", Kayako impatiently asked. "Oh, right, uh... The Edge. It's the border of the plateau on which The Plane rests. It's a deep drop down, and nobody has ever been recovered. Mazki, then, must have met the same fate. Right, Ika?" No response. "Ika?" Ika was unresponsive. She was curled into a fetal position, softly sobbing without making much noise. There were a million thoughts running through her head. They'd return home soon enough, but... without her only family by blood, Ika wondered what she would do now. The young girl just wants to see her mother again. Is that so much to ask? ``` --[[Notice!]]-- Media Related Information Obtained! --[[Bonus Hint]]-- Down (and to the left) with the invaders! ```
